DeverauX

I was lucky enough to see these guys perform in Battle Creek, MI a couple weeks ago, and was even luckier that I got there early and was front and center when they got on stage!  I had never heard of them prior to this show, but quickly realized that theirs was a name I didn't want to forget!  I have to confess, I'm not a big fan of screamers, but this band has it down to an art for sure!  Formed in 2011, DeverauX is a Michigan based metal band.

The first thing that really caught my undivided attention was the beat.  The drummer, David, has the legs, feet, arms, and hands of a drumming god.  I'm not saying that he's the fastest drummer in the world, but I am saying that he is the fastest drummer I have ever had the honor of seeing live.  Within one song, I knew that before the night was over I had to shake his hand.

The sound is clean, the songs are catchy, and the riffs are thick and full.  The screaming is done in moderation, and I have to be honest when I say that I give mad props to Phil because as a singer I don't know how he switches between singing and screaming so flawlessly without losing his voice.

Their debut EP "The Last of Us" has five tracks, my favorite of which is the title track "The Last of Us".  I love the beat, I love the melody, I love the timing, I love the delivery, I love the video.  I literally love everything about this song!  I had the opportunity to talk with all of the guys, and as bad ass as they are on stage, they are very nice, down-to-earth guys!  There are several ways you can check out their stuff!  Of course, Spotify is one of them!  Their entire album is available on Spotify!

DeverauX is:
Phil LaMay (Vocals)
Chris Millican (Guitar/Vocals)
David Floyd (Drums/Vocals)
JD Younk (Bass)
